To use the NXDN systems in CT effectively, you will want to program several channels, one for “local” communications on the repeater, and several for the various talkgroups supported. Some of our best practices to date would be to create a zone for each repeater, and the populate channels with the talkgroups inside the zone. For instance:
N1PAH LOCAL, configured as RAN 1, no talkgroup
N1PAH CT, configured as RAN 1, Talkgroup 9000
N1PAH WW, configured as RAN 1, Talkgroup 65000
How to add a talkgroup: In the Channel Edit menu, click the dropdown box for “Selcall on PTT (NXDN)”, and choose “Group Call”. Program one channel per talkgroup, and select the ID List Number corresponding to the list entry of the talkgroup you want for that channel.
